Grants

Sustainability Grant

We have already provided support to every unit from county by reducing the county levy by £5.50 for this year.

In addition to this I am pleased to inform you that I have secured some funding to support our recovery plan as a result of COVID. Some of this fund is designated to support units with financial challenges as a result of COVID.

If any unit is struggling to return to guiding due to financial issues, then please consider requesting a sustainability grant. Units can apply for help with rent, resources or recruitment. please complete the attached form and send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  The finance committee will be meeting to review all applications.

As previously advised if you are facing other financial issues please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Bedfordshire Opportunities Grant

Grants are awarded to individual girls and adult members, providing opportunities for girls, to enable them to take part in a Guiding event or activity out of the meeting place which otherwise would have been prohibitive due to cost.

Applications should be made by the nominating unit leader on behalf of the individual and should be countersigned by the District Commissioner or the Division Commissioner if the leader making the application is the District Commissioner.

Applications can be made on behalf of an individual for one event in each calendar year.

Grants will be considered for up to 50% of the cost but no more that £200.

Following the event or activity, the recipient or nominating leader, if the recipient is unaware of the application being made on their behalf, will be required to provide a short report of the event or activity.

Applications cannot be made for events or activities that the County supports through other funding arrangements such as BP Adventure Weekends or members selected to attend International events.

The event or activity being attended should be at least two weeks following the Finance Committee meeting, except in exceptional circumstances.

The Finance Committee will meet during the February, May and October half term holidays to consider applications. To be considered for a grant, applications will need to be submitted to the Chair of the Finance Committee by the Monday of the week before the meeting either by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or post to the address on the form.
